FEBRUARY 2022 - BNTVA LOVE IT - PHEW! :)

After several years distanced from the nuclear community, Elin shared the play with the Ceri McDade of the British Nuclear Test Veteran's Association. Both identified the common theme of moral injury; explicitly highlighted as part of the BNTVA's campaign and written about in the play by Elin, though she had never heard the term at this point. GUINEA PIGS aims to raise the profile of this issue.

Zoë Browne
DECEMBER 2021 - ZOË BROWNE JOINS AS PRODUCER

Elin (actor/writer) lives with ADHD, which means that kindly advice from peers to 'just' produce GUINEA PIGS herself was not as simple as 'just' doing it - ask any ADHDer (we have other skills to make up for it, just not that one). Zoë was just completing a course Writing & Producing Comedy at NFTS and agreed to jump onboard to help as part-time producer and Elin is now her lacky. (Elin also manages the website hehe)

ETPEP Award
AUGUST 2021 - LONG-LISTED FOR ETPEP AWARD

An earlier draft of GUINEA PIGS was long-listed for the 2021 Finborough Theatre ETPEP Award.
Feedback from judges, along with an incredibly useful review/rejection from the National Theatre Lit dept enabled the play to reach its final draft stages.

2018-2021 - THE JOURNEY

The seeds of GUINEA PIGS were sown in 2018 with Elin's solo piece I'm Not Prejudiced But...performed at The White Bear. She joined the Ovalhouse Adult Company in 2019 with a view to developing further ideas. GUINEA PIGS originally began as a two-hander under a different name and with a very different format. Then 2020 hit.

Elin was working for the London Ambulance Service at the height of the pandemic for 14 months and used writing to feel like not everything was lost from her creative life. (She also wrote the comedy monologue 'Jane Goes Frontline.')

As the pressure on services quietened she was able to edit the play manuscript whilst on nght shift. The final version of GUINEA PIGS emerged.
It's first cast read-through was in December 2021.
A final intensive actor/writer cast workshop is scheduled for June 2022 with it's first performances set for October 2022.
